Ingredients
- 9 green tomatoes – medium finely chopped
- 1 head of cabbage – medium chopped
- 2 green or red bell peppers chopped
- 1 hot pepper – jalapeno or Serrano chopped
- 1 c celery chopped
- 4 med onions – yellow or white chopped
- 1 tbsp celery seed
- 1/8 tsp cinnamon – ground
- 1/8 tsp allspice – ground
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1.5 c sugar – granulated
- white vinegar
Instructions
- Finely chop tomatoes and allow them to drain in a colander for 15-20 minutes
- Chop other vegetables and add them to a large pot
- Add spices, salt and sugar to the pot
- Add drained tomatoes to the pot
- Cover the mixture with white vinegar
- Turn the heat to low and allow the mixture to simmer
- When the mixture comes to a boil, put the mixture in hot sterilized jars and seal
