- Large Dutch Oven Or Cast Iron Pot
Ingredients
- 4 tbsp Butter
- 1 Yellow Onion
- 1 lb White Mushrooms – sliced
- 1 lb Italian Sausage
- 5 cloves Garlic – minced
- 8 oz Cream Cheese
- 3/4 tsp Mustard Powder
- 1 tsp Granulated Sugar
- 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
- 3/4 tsp Cayenne Pepper
- 1/4 cup Bourbon/Whiskey
- 1 cup Heavy Whipping Cream
- 1 lb Spaghetti Noodles
Instructions
- In a large dutch oven or cooking pot melt the butter over medium heat
- Add sausage to melted butter until browned. Remove sausage from the pot and put aside
- Add mushrooms to the pot and cook for about 10 minutes
- Add onions to the pot until they are clear
- Add garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes
- Add Bourbon or whiskey to the pot and cook for 1-2 minutes
- Add cream cheese and cook until smooth
- Add heavy whipping cream, ground mustard, lemon juice, cayenne pepper, sugar, and salt and pepper to taste
- Add the cooked sausage back into the pot
- Continue cooking until it's the consistency you prefer
- Cook noodles as instructed on the package
